Ryan O’Reilly charged with impaired driving

Ryan O’Reilly is not off to a good start with the Sabers.

After a little too much celebration near his cabin in Ontario, O’Reilly allegedly was driving impaired and crashed into a Tim Hortons.  He also allegedly left the scene.

This comes on the heels of a seven-year, $52.5 million dollar contract after being traded from the Colorado Avalanche.

Very surprising when you consider that O’Reilly is a past Lady Byng winner for sportsmanship.  And by all accounts is a great guy.

Now this will have to play out in the courts and then possible sanctions by the Sabres and/or NHL.
