Red Wings Courtship of Dion Phaneuf

Dion Phaneuf is a strong defenseman.

And the Red Wings have been courting Dion Phaneuf on and off for awhile.

Well, it appears that courtship is over.

Phaneuf is signed through 2021 but has a cap hit of $7M per year.  It is likely that he will be traded as part of Mike Babcock’s rebuilding plan in Toronto.

But not to the Red Wings according to Ansar Khan:

Although his future is uncertain, we still give Dion props for marrying Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert of TV series 24 fame.
