Calgary Mayor Loses Bet When Flames Fall to Ducks
When the Calgary Flames fell to the Anaheim Ducks, there was more than one “loser” involved.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi lost a bet involving two parts: To wear a Ducks jersey and overcome his fear of public singing.
The good natured Nenshi donned an old-school Ducks uniform and sang “Let it Go” from the movie Frozen. Accompanied by a band and more singers.
The Calgary Herald added:
Earlier this month, Nenshi said he wasn’t looking forward to his Idina Menzel moment.
“I’m a reasonably fearless guy,” he told reporters earlier this month.
“I like to speak in public, I like to take risks, I like to cliff-dive. The one thing that I am absolutely terrified of is singing in public, so wish me luck over the next couple of weeks.”
Nenshi said his original plan was to bet Paul Brandt’s Alberta Bound, against California Dreamin’ by The Mamas And The Papas. Instead, Tait picked a song that had a much higher register.
